Real People Music presents its first release the Buff Baff Riddim
As its first release the Real People Music label presents the Buff Baff Riddim, an original early Dancehall style juggling inspired by Gregory Isaacs’ albums Out Deh and Night Nurse. Recorded at studios like Tuff Gong and Alborosie’s Shengen Studio in Kingston and Berlin the instrumental, a creation by Alex “Drummie” Domhoever, is reminiscent of Roots Radics’ and the Taxi Gang’s sound characterized by analogue instruments and Simmons drums.
The riddim selection will be out on all digital platforms on May 31 while two singles are being released ahead of time: the combination of Duane Stephenson and Lutan Fyah entitled Empress Sativa successfully premiered with the first music video I produced on May 10, and Jerone’s track Brother’s Keeper will be out on May 24. One week earlier the video shot at St. Patrick’s Primary School in Kingston is presented as part of a campaign for Jamaica’s Child Month in May. The short film I conceptualized, filmed and edited myself highlights children that break the cycle of bullying in school and stand up to be a brother’s and sister’s keeper. To share and promote his positive message Jerone toured schools in Jamaica throughout May with the video and his Brother’s Keeper campaign.
